Sunday, July 6th - Psalm 26
Prepare To Receive the Word:
Pray: For the Lord to speak through his word. For your pastor as he prepares to preach. For your heart to receive the word with gladness. For the Holy Spirit to guide you in the truth. For your church family as they prepare to worship together. For God to magnify his glory in the gospel of Jesus Christ. For God to bring non-believers to faith and believers to maturity.
Read: Read the passage. Take note of any repeated words or phrases. Mark any questions you have. What immediately stands out? What encourages you? What seems hard to understand?
Process The Word:
Pray: For the Lord to help you understand, love, and apply the truth from his word
Read: Read Psalm 26 and related passages
Listen: Listen to the sermon (preferably in person at church, or on the podcast if you are unable to join us).
Discuss:
1) Have you ever faced false accusations? How does David respond to those who seek to accuse him?
2) What’s the difference between “situational” and “total” blamelessness?
3) How does keeping the “steadfast love” before your eyes help you to walk in his paths? What are some ways to keep his steadfast love before you?
4) How did becoming a Christian change the way you interact with non-believers? How does it change the way you interact with the church?
5) Why do we need to commit ourselves to other people who are committed to our spiritual good?
6) David expresses a commitment to worship, to worship as God has prescribed, and to worship from the heart. Why are all three important?
7) What is our ultimate hope for final vindication? How does this Psalm point us to Christ?
